Happy Halloween 2008
Last and final Halloween post I promise. Just couldn't help myself though. Ezra is so stinkin cute in this pumpkin costume! Thank you to my wonderful hubby who always indulges my photography obsession by getting Ezra to give me the best smiles. We went trick-or-treating on our street tonight and had a fun time. I love our little neighborhood.

Halloween Parade
A few shots from the Halloween parade this morning at Ezra's daycare. The kids dressed up in costumes and we all walked around the block to trick or treat. There was a little shopping center along the way where all the teachers handed out candy at different stations. We really like his daycare. Everyone there seems to love Ezra so that makes us very happy. And they get to do fun things like a Halloween Parade!

At one point during the parade we went through a McDonalds. I love this McDonald's now! Their employees were so nice to the kids...
Ezra held onto these raisons for about half of the parade...

Back in the daycare parking lot at the end of the parade.

We finally made it to a pumpkin patch last weekend. Luckily there were a few pumpkins left. There was one especially cute pumpkin...

These next two were on our drive home. I'm telling you, Ezra can't get enough of Polar Bear, Polar Bear!
And then he's out. It's hard work picking out the perfect pumpkins!

Lots of running going on these days. We took Ezra to our first official family run this past Thursday night -- the Friends of the River run. It was a 3.4 mile run that started at University Village and looped us through Trinity Park and back. Logan ran 28 miles this morning and tomorrow I've got my half marathon in Waco. A few shots from the other night...

Part of this run was on the El Scorcho route in Trinity Park. But it was in the opposite direction. It takes on a whole different perspective in daylight.

We are loving the cool fall temperatures these days! A few shots of Ezra J. the other night running around in the backyard...

These days we're reading.....
Logan -- Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman
Nell -- The Happiest Toddler on the Block by Harvey Karp
Ezra -- Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear by Eric Carle. Ezra goes back and forth and back and forth between these books. He can't get enough of them!

Finally some new pictures of our cutie!!! 13 and a half months old now. First up, a few shots at the park down the street. Ezra is not the least bit interested in sitting still for the camera anymore. You have to be fast because he is on the move!

We always pass this elementary school on our way to and from the park. This will be the elementary school Ezra goes to if we decide to go the public school route and stay in our neighborhood. I hope they fix the paint by then. Ha! It has a very sweet feeling to it though. We really want Ezra to go to public school -- it's just the challenge to find the right one for him in Fort Worth ISD.
Back at home walking around out front. He loves to go outside in our front yard. And if there's an opening he always goes straight for the stairs...

Hope you all are having a great day! It finally feels like fall here in Fort Worth today. Yea for cool temperatures!
I am Jessica Seinfeld!
Last night I cooked my first Deceptively Delicious meal for Ezra where I had to sneak in the veggies. When Ezra was a baby he loved veggies! I was so proud of myself -- homemade baby food -- a fruit and veggie at every meal. But now that he's eating all solid foods and often feeding himself he no longer wants to go the healthy route. Green beans? Forget it! Squash? No way! So, I'm trying out the Jessica Seinfeld plan. Last night I cooked carrots & zuccinni, popped them in the food processor, and combined them with tomato sauce to go with wheat pasta for a yummy pasta meal. We're going to try it out tonight for dinner. Keep your fingers crossed that Ezra goes for it. Speaking of Seinfeld's...does our cabinet look like Jerry Seinfeld's or what? We really like cereal at our house!

A few things going on with us these days...

Ezra is really into putting things inside other things these days. For example, his rubber ducky inside the big cup we have in the bathtub. Any sort of little toy inside the Little People school bus. Anything he can fit into a basket or bowl or bucket.

Ezra thinks it so funny when we brush his teeth. I need to video tape it sometime. It’s pretty darn cute.

He has also started climbing stairs. We saw this for the first time today on our front porch. A little scary for us but it had to happen eventually. You can tell he's quite proud of himself when he makes it to the top (three stairs total.)

Ezra will graduate high school in 2025. Wow. I wonder what the world will be like in 2025.

We’re excited about Halloween this year! We got Ezra’s costume in the other day. Not sure how long he will wear it. We tried it on him and he didn’t have the best reaction but we’ll be sure to try it again because he is so cute in it!

Logan is training for a 100 mile race in February. Try to wrap your brain around that one. It’s hard for me to even imagine that sometimes. This morning he did a 20 mile run before work. And I think he’s at the beginning of his training. 20 miles at the beginning of training. Last Sunday he did a 26 mile run and then we played 9 holes of golf.

I have photography shoots scheduled just about every weekend this fall. Who would have known that it would have turned into all of this when I started playing around with photography again two years ago. A big part of it was because of my blog that I started just so I could share pictures with my sisters instead of filling up their inbox. Last month I had my first client drive in from out of town (Houston) for a session. Pretty cool!

Ezra was in such a cuddly mood this morning. I love it when he’s like that! Lately he seems so busy exploring and walking around.

Speaking of walking….it’s more like running. I actually think I saw him running the other day. He’s so darn fast now. Gone are the days where he can have about a 30 second lead before I jump up after him. Now you have to go immediately.

I had a girls night out the other night. It was awesome. An evening spent with Elizabeth, Loralee, Tanya, and Jennifer. Love it when I get the chance to catch up with girlfriends. And of course Mama's Pizza and wine make it even better!

Ok, just wanted to post something. Hope to share some pictures soon. :0)

Little People
Ezra loves this! His good friend Griffin recently gave him this gift. Have Little People been around for a while? I have a memory of these little toys but can't quite place where I know them from. Anyway...they are cute! Ezra loves pushing the button that makes the lights flash or the bus driver say "Everyone sit down....we're going to school!" He's the friendliest bus driver ever! Cracks me up everytime I hear him! Thank you Leslie, Carter, & Griffin for a fun birthday present. It has been a hit with Ezra (and me too!)

Ezra and I met up with Leslie & Griffin this past weekend at a park in Keller. We always love seeing them and catching up. It's always so fun to hear what they've got going on and to see how similiar our little boys are in what they are up to everyday. We hope to do it again soon!

Ezra and I have been going to the park quite a bit lately. We're still searching for that perfect one for kiddos his age. We haven't found it yet but we've found one that's close. There's one just down the street from us that we have gone to a few times and I think in about six months it will be perfect for Ezra. He loves to walk around and check things out. At that same park by our house there is a tennis court that he's always very interested in. On a couple of our visits there have been guys actually playing tennis and Ezra has wanted to join them so bad! Future tennis player perhaps? If you know of great parks for one years olds here in Fort Worth let us know!
