We finished our summer music class last week. I can't believe it's been eight weeks of summer already! Time is going by so fast! We really enjoyed this class and will definitely take another one maybe next spring or summer. A few shots of our little musician...

El Scorcho
It's been a week since El Scorcho and Ezra & I want to say proud we are of Logan. For those of you who don't know about El Scorcho it's this little race (ha!) that Logan, Jason, and the guys at Fort Worth Running Company put on. It starts at midnight out at Trinity Park and runners run either a 25k (15 miles) or a 50k (31 miles.) This is the second year they have done it and they sold out at 400 runners. So with all the family, friends, and volunteers there to cheer on the runners there must have been at least 500 people out at Trinity Park last Saturday night. Imagine one big party at midnight. All because of my honey and an idea he had a couple of years ago. We are very proud of you!

Ezra thought this game with Enno was so funny!!! He was having one of those deep down belly laughs for a good five minutes while they played with this simple blue ring.

No toys to play with? No problem for Ezra. He's not picky.

We actually do have locks on our kitchen cabinets. Just not on every one. I think we'll be adding some more this weekend. :0)
Wouldn't it be great if we could all get a little playtime into our schedule every day? Happy Friday!

This last one cracks me up!

Happy Birthday Logan!
We celebrated Logan's birthday at a FW Cats baseball game last week along with Nanna & Pop, Jason & Dori, and Adam & Valerie. Ezra's very first baseball game. Despite the heat he did pretty good. I think we'll try it again sometime. We can't wait for our cousins to come into town from Idaho to go again! We know how you guys love baseball!

The Lullaby Project
Remember how I said we’re always singing and dancing at our house? Well, last Sunday we did just that but along with a film crew. A couple weeks ago we were asked to take part in The Lullaby Project. The creators of this project have been recording families singing lullabies to their children. It’s been going on for a few years now and I believe several CD’s have been produced. They are now looking into doing something with this project on television and asked if we might be interested in being one of their families. So we said sure! It actually ended being more than just singing and was more of a combination of an interview with our family and several songs in between. We talked about things like how Logan and I met, how Ezra came about, and how music is a very important part of Ezra’s life. The best part about the entire thing was that they gave us a copy of the DVD. I’m so excited to have this! Even if nothing ever becomes of our recording, we now have a 30 minute DVD of our family together when Ezra was 10 months old. As soon as I figure out how to take a few clips from it I’ll try to post some. For now though, if you are interested I found this article online about The Lullaby Project. So you might find us on a CD in Starbucks someday or maybe even on tv singing with our Ezra J. I’ll be sure to let you know if it goes any further! It was a fun little afternoon for our family. :0)

A Day in the Life of Ezra
Here's a small glimpse at the photo session we had last month. I've been wanting to do this one for a while -- capture our family doing some of the things we love. Just about every day you can find us singing, dancing, reading, and just hanging out together having fun. Thank you to the incredibly talented Lindsey for photographing my family!!!

Logan moved into the new office building last Monday so this past weekend we went to check it out. Very nice! I've been wanting to snap a few shots ever since I saw that giant C go up on the corner of the building so thank you to my wonderful husband who always lets me go crazy with the pictures!

One more from the inside. Ezra liked these cushy chairs!

Happy 4th of July!

Saturday, July 5, 2008

Ezra had a very busy and very fun week last week! Let's see -- two playdates, four trips to the pool, lunch with Mimi, music class, a round of golf (three holes for E.J.), a 4th of July cookout, and a trip to Logan's new office. He is one busy little guy!
First, a few pictures with Griffin. What do you think -- future Longhorn roommates?

Next up, a few shots of Ezra and his good buddy Jackson. Taking a break from swimming at Nanna's house.

And one more from a few weeks ago that I forgot to post of Ezra and Jackson. I think this is the sweetest picture!

It's always nice to have a little entertainment when you are eating your snack.
